A much talked about theatrical release of the summer of 1998 that attracted an audience of 150,000 in only 2 weeks. The movie deals with a side story that fills in the black between the OVA series episodes 7 and 8. Like the first Gundam series, it's told with a backdrop of the Ichinen Senso (one year war) with a serious drama and realistic setting that attracted many anime fans. As a special feature, it includes the "Uchu Seiki Yowa" that was only included in the initial pressings of the OVA series (comprised of 10 episodes, directed by Tetsuro Amino).
