LUNA SEA God Bless You -One Night Dejavu- 2007.12.24 Tokyo Dome [Blu-ray]

This concert release is a recording of Luna Sea's Tokyo Dome show from 2007.12.24. On this bluray release we get decent 1080i video and a wonderful uncompressed lossless DolbyTrueHD 5.1 audio track and a decent Stereo PCM track. The reason you will want to get this is the bluray's DolbyTrueHD 5.1 track, as this is the best sounding release of this concert you can buy. At the time this was recorded, 1080p video wasn't as common as it is today as most HD TVs at the time could only display 720p or 1080i signals and many of them were large CRTs. So the video is interlaced to display 2 million pixels and almost all of the footage appears to be upscaled from SD sources. Image wise, it is only a slight increase in quality over DVD. An advantage over the DVD is that there is a higher bitrate for the video and the upscaling. Where this release shines, and the reason you will want this, is the uncompressed lossless DolbyTrueHD 5.1 audio track. DVD is not capable of storing or using uncompressed lossless surround sound audio like the Bluray format is capable of. So this Bluray release of this concert has the highest quality sound you will ever find of this concert. It will make you feel like you are in Tokyo Dome. In order to take advantage of the DolbyTrueHD audio, you need to have a home theater receive and surround sound speakers with a subwoofer. Ryuichi's vocals come out clear through the center channel, Sugizo and Inoran's guitars are clearly separated on the left and right side of the stage and their guitar playing is MUCH clearer and easier to understand and it's like they are in the room with you, and J and Shinya's bass and drums come clear through the subwoofer channel and the left andright and center channels. The rear speakers let you hear the audience of Tokyo Dome. In general, I think this is the highest quality concert release from the band as this has a DolbyTrueHD 5.1 track. Most of their other releases only have compressed stereo tracks. You will enjoy this if you are a fan of Luna Sea.
