Produced by "Kamikaze Girls" ("Shimotsuma Monogatari") director Tetsuya Nakashima. "Hairstyle" is a composite of three short films focusing on three women with different hairstyles ("Braids," "Afro," "Mushroom"). Shikao falls in love with the young daughter of the owner of a used romance novel shop in "Braids." In "Afro American," an American-raised Japanese woman named Barbara struggles over cooking, before she meets a mysterious foreigner with an amazing Kansai accent who teaches her to cook. In "Mushroom," Kazumi meets a charming man who works for a soba restaurant despite losing his memory in an accident in high school. On a sudden impulse she tells him an absurd lie.
