"Mononoke the Movie (Anime) Chapter 3 - The Serpent God (English Subtitles)" by Mononoke

Description

The Blu-ray of "Mononoke the Movie: Chapter III - The Serpent God" goes on sale! After two great incidents involving mononoke, the deadly battle between the Medicine Seller (Hiroshi Kamiya), who carries the exorcism sword, and the Karakasa, and the decisive fight with the Hinezumi that followed, peace seemed at last to have come to the Ooku. But the Medicine Seller sensed the presence of a "something" that had still not disappeared, and remained on guard.

Around that time, Sachiko (Atsumi Tanezaki), the official wife of the Tenshi (Miyu Irino) who rules the realm, was blessed with the long-awaited baby boy, but the joy was brief, and the hopes and prayers around her went unanswered as the child passed away. Sachiko, who had wished to change her marriage in name only with the Tenshi by bearing an heir, is drawn at her lowest point into a terrible plot that would overturn the very existence of the Ooku. Irreparable sacrifice, unrewarded regret, and anger with nowhere to go begin at last to transform into a curse. Hokuto Mizorogi (Kenjiro Tsuda), the priest of the "Omizu-sama" faith within the Ooku, watched the course of events with a solemn expression.

At the same time, unnatural tremors (earthquakes) began to occur frequently within the Ooku. There is an eerie stirring, as if a huge creature were crawling, and triangular scales fall from somewhere, and then a strange incident occurs in which a lady-in-waiting is twisted, crushed, and strangled to death. What appears before the Medicine Seller, who rushes to the scene, is the Hebigami, a mononoke that has taken the shape of a giant serpent. After a standoff he drives it back for a time with a talisman, but unless he uncovers the three aspects of Form, Truth, and Reason, the "exorcism sword" cannot be drawn and the Hebigami cannot be cut down.

Where does the Hebigami, this apparition, come from, why has it come to hold anger enough to swallow the Ooku, and why has it now raised its head and begun to move? Its origin goes back 150 years, hidden in the truth of the birth of the Ooku. Long ago, the Ooku was created by Amanotsubone (Yukana), the wet nurse of the third Tenshi. Through that structure a peaceful age continued, and she is now revered as "Omizu-sama," and yet.

Sensing an ominous presence, the Medicine Seller goes to the shrine at the center of the altar and learns a shocking truth, never told before, that shakes the whole realm! The bond between the third Midaidokoro (Miyuki Sawashiro) and Amanotsubone, and the secret of the Mizorogi family, and further the background to the successive appearances of mononoke in the Ooku, are all exposed, and every thread connects into one. The Medicine Seller stakes everything to face the mononoke, which is the negative history of the Ooku itself. But facing the Hebigami, which has made years of resentment its own power and possesses unimaginable strength, he is driven into the greatest predicament he has ever known. As fangs close in on his life, further unpredictable anomalies pile up! What fate awaits the Medicine Seller in the face of his greatest crisis?
