"再出航"を告げる全曲新曲のオリジナルアルバム完成! "宜候 (ようそろ)"とは、航海用語で船を直進させることを意味する、操舵号令である。活動休止期間を経て、復帰作となる23枚目のオリジナルアルバムは、デビューから現在までを振り返った「ハロー! トウキョウ」や、松本圭司氏のアレンジによるジャズナンバー「なんかおりますの」、Tomi Yo氏がアレンジした、"人は本来的に多様なものである"ということを光の要素に準えて表現した「虹色の未来」など、聴き応えある楽曲が並ぶ。「わさび」は須藤晃氏による作詞。槇原が自身も歌唱する楽曲で作詞提供を受けたのは「チキンライス」以来17年ぶり。ジャケットは、数々のアーティストを手がける大楠孝太郎氏をデザイナーに迎え、絵の具を立体的に重ねることで航海していくことを表現している。 初回生産限定盤のDVDには、2020 年の"MTV Video Music Awards Japan"で、最優秀ポップビデオ賞を受賞した大久保拓朗監督による「宜候」のミュージックビデオ、メイキング映像を収録。スリーブケース仕様予定。
