Nihongo So-Matome (for JLPT) N5 Kanji, Vocabulary, Grammar, Reading and Listening (with English and Vietnamese Translation)

This book is a good resource to learn or refresh Kanji and Vocabulary. The grammar section is ok although it feels a little bit unorganized. For each Kanji different examples are provided, which is very helpful. There also are various pages about the numbers in Japanese as well. The enclosed CD is helpful as well for some listening practice, but be aware these are not easy. When learning Kanji I would like to have the stroke order as well but this book does not contain that. I would by it again as it is overall a very useful book.

I used this book to study for the JLPT N5. I found all the materials sorted well, in a way that made much sense, and relatively easy to learn and remember. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the book relies heavily on having already learned all the grammar, conjugation and most of the vocabulary. The Kanji aspects are great and no prior Kanji knowledge is required. So if you know the basics, this book is great and it pushes the student to understand the grammar ideas and rationals in every 'lesson'. I passed the JLPT N5 in December 2019.
