    I expected more 3

Being JUBILEE my favorite album of Versailles and considering it their best album than others, I’ve waited a lot their first major Live DVD. -DISC 1- The DVD begins with an opening with Sound in Gate as background music and with some video clips and images of Ascendead Master and Serenade, a really interesting video, but not wonderful. The video quality of the concert is good, and the takes too, but I've found a lot of faults on the record. In many occasions the camera it’s focused in places it should not be, for example, at the beginning of the concert when the band is presenting its members, when Kamijo and Hizaki are appearing, the camera do not focus on them, but focuses of the left side of the stage, resulting a view to Teru; the same situation occurs at the end of the concert, in The Revenant Choir. About the DVD content, we can view for the first time in live new songs as Dessert Apple, Reminiscence, Catharsis and Serenade. The presentation is beautiful and is cute listen to Kamijo talking about Jasmine You in Serenade and dedicates it to him. Also is adorable to see in Sympathia flying little paper airplanes around the stage, which makes the song special. Note that the DVD include subtitles, a very useful thing for the spectators that no speak Japanese. Kamijo in this time comes with his wig of DESTINY -The Lovers- and the costume of Serenade, which gives to him a really bad and strange appearance. The rest of the band looks pretty good, in special Hizaki with his costume of DESTINY. The audio record is a bit poor and this takes away the epicness of some songs, as is the case of the masterpiece God Palace and the amazing Aristocrat’s Symphony. The scenery is good, it’s constituted by a red carpet at the center and 3 balcony-type balustrades. About the lit could be better, the color selection it’s good, kind JUBILEE, but I consider unnecessary the use of some lights did not look relevant in the stage. If we see the tracklist of this DVD and compare with the real concert, would notice the missing of four songs: Zombie, The Umbrella of Glass, Beast of Desire and The Revenant Choir; except of The Umbrella of Glass, is understandable the elimination of these songs that don’t belong to JUBILEE, as this DVD is focused to promote their most recent album: JUBILEE, although I personally would have loved the inclusion of The Umbrella of Glass on this disc. Notice that neither disc focus in Masashi, seems Masashi doesn’t have any relevance on this DVD, it’s a shame because in this DVD Masashi becomes the official bassist of Versailles, it’s understandable that in the Disc 2 there isn’t any takes of him because in this time he is still the support bassist, but on the Disc 1 should be focused on Masashi, because from now on he is the new official member. This seems that there was poor organization thru the staff of the concert; I imagine that the cameramen didn’t know that this time had to record to MASASHI. -DISC 2- This disc is very similar to the DVD included in DESTINY ?The Lovers? Type B, they share the same tracklist, but in a different order. Doesn’t have subtitles, MC or encores; a little disappointing. The video record is awful, and this can be appreciate viewing the lights of the stage, don’t look well, and in some scenes the hair of Yuki and Hizaki seems very reddish. The audio record is also awful, even worse than the DISC 1, the instruments seems poor and the melody too. Actually, is a shame the bad quality of this concert, because I consider that this is one of the most important concerts of Versailles. An interesting fact, in this concert a green laser is used in Gekkakou and Amorphous, and in God Palace appears some people wearing a coat chanting, giving personality to the song. -BOOKLET- The booklet is really good, it’s a simple work but is good. The main colors are red and blue, which provokes a mysterious and bright ambient, very interesting. The booklet contains pretty good images of the band members. Teru dida good work with this booklet. To finish, this DVD can be judged in two parts. The technical side that covers the record of audio and video, which is a little bad on the Disc 1, and awful on the Disc 2; I think that more work is needed on these issues and I hope the next live releases of Versailles will be better. About the performance of the band I can say that it’s good, we can appreciate new songs in live, though not everything is new here because a part of this DVD was seen on the DVD of Philia Type-A and on the record of the World Tour 2010 Method of Inheritance GRAND FINAL transmitted by WOWOW. In general terms we can say that this DVD is good within what can be referred.

Worth the price for sure! 5

This DVD is simply amazing! The Disc 1 concert is truly one of the best lives I have ever seen. My favorite tracks on this disc are DESTINY -The Lovers-, God Palace, Princess and the beautiful masterpiece Serenade. The extra disc consists of another live concert, a little shorter than the one on the first disc, but is also incredible. Plus the extras on Disc 2 showing the Latin America tour (the concert which I went to, but wasn't able to buy the ticket for the meet and greet...) and the European tour, plus a booklet with some really nice photos and a replica (I think) of the ticket from their japanese tour. It was delivered really fast and the packaging was truly perfect, offering total protection to the product. Worth the price for sure! If you want it and has doubts because of the price just buy it and you will not be disappointed!

Makes you feel like you are really there 5

This is a DVD that every single Versailles fan should possess. This is truly a collectible. This concert is also simply amazing and mind blowing and the sound is terrific. There are some songs that can be heard live for the first time like for instance: Ascendead Master, Gekkakou, Reminiscence, Desert Apple and Destiny - The Lovers. Those songs sound amazing live as all of their songs do :). It was also fun to see Teru sama alone on the stage playing during Reminiscence, it was so cute! He is saimoe. I also thought it was fun to see only Hizaki, Yuki and Masashi play together during Desert Apple, which is a very different but a good song nontheless in my opinion. There is no Versailles song I don't like. It was so beautiful to see Kamijo talk about Jasmine Yuu and look up in the air while singing Serenade. You could truly see that the song speaks to Jasmine and their performance spoke volumes about how much they care for Jasmine. Jasmine's death was of course tragic and Versailles lost a very good friend. Kamijo's words were touching and listening to Serenade live was a very different experience. It was so beautiful and even more beautiful than on the CD. That shouldn't be possible because it's such a beautiful song, a true beauty. In my opinion it is their most beautiful song. Hizaki's most beautiful song and Kamijo's most touching and beautiful lyrics. It was also heart-warming when Masashi was officially made their new bassist. He really deserves it. It's always great to see Versailles concerts and I hope they'll continue to release their concerts on DVD. I really look forward to the concert from last year which was advertised on the second DVD. The shipping was extremely fast and the packaging was good. I will continue to shop at CD Japan because of their superb service :).

    Well Worth Buying 5

This DVD features two Versailles concerts on separate discs, Method of Inheritance -GRAND FINAL- CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES at SHIBUYA C.C. Lemon Hall, and also the concert at JCB Hall. The band plays fifteen of the songs on Jubilee, three from Noble, Destiny -The Lovers- from their single of the same name, and Desert Apple from their single Philia (amisbro obviously didn't check this in her review). Each song is played perfectly and the stage presence of Versailles really shows. My only complaint is that it would have been nice if this got a Blu-ray release as well. For those of you who have watched the HD broadcast of a portion of the Lemon Hall concert you'll notice a significant reduce in the image and sound since this is only DVD quality. Overall, this is a must-have for any Versailles fan, and I'd highly recommend buying the Japan Edition/Limited Edition to get the second concert at JCB Hall and bonus footage of the Versailles Tour in Europe and Latin America.

A great Concert DVD for first time watchers of Visual Kei concerts 5

If you ever wanted to visit a world separate from the reality that you live in then this is a good place to go. Now this version of the DVD is Region ALL and actually does feature subtitles. Keep that in mind if you go to purchase it but it states otherwise. Its two discs long with the beginning featuring English Dialogue with Japanese subs and then it goes into "God Palace. There are English subs when KAMIJO is talking so you don't have to wonder what exactly he is saying either. Favorite track on the discs is easy: "Desert Apple" which despite the fact that the track kicks butt it isn't featured on any release before this concert or after(and I checked) If you are a fan of the group or just getting into Visual Kei you DEFINITELY want to pick up this DVD
