エリック・クラプトンが「地球上でもっとも過小評価されているミュージシャン」と称したスライド・ギターの名手、サニー・ランドレスのファン待望のブルーズ・アルバムが完成! ロバート・ジョンソンなどのブルーズ古典カヴァーとオリジナル新曲を収録。全編にわたって神技スライド・ギターが唸りをあげる。ジャズ/フュージョンへとその音楽性を広げた前作「エレメンタル・ジャーニー」の後、本人自ら「シンプルながらもパワフルなブルーズを強烈に欲していた」と語る通り最小限のブルーズ・トリオで世界各地を回り、その次のステップとして同じメンバーでレコーディングされたのがこのアルバム。アルバム制作がスタートした時期に盟友ジョニー・ウィンターが他界し、その魂にささげるべく作った追悼曲「ファイアーバード・ブルーズ」は、スローなブルーズにのせてジョニー・ウィンターのトレードマークであるギブソン・ファイアーバードでエモーショナルなギター・ソロを弾ききったインスト・ブルーズ曲。日本盤ダブル・ライナー・ノーツ(仲井戸"CHABO"麗市/文屋章)付。日本盤のみ高音質K2HD+HCQCD仕様。
