I was very excited when waiting for this cd,and was so disapointed when I heard it!the packaging is superb,but the sound is flat sounding and the level needs turning up to get decent volume,it sounds different to previous shm cd,which was remastered in japan.this one features a flat transfer to dsd mastering and having listened to a few other plat-cds their is a similarity in sound,which may indicate the dsd mastering,however,the sound of the previous shm cd is better but has a dull top end.i have an early greatest hits cd from usa featuring the original remaster and this version has some songs on from every picture,and it beats them all for sonics,being cleaner,more dynamic,as if rod is their!its the original remasters that want transferring in pcm to shm and plat-shm,without any further remastering,i was hoping the shm format would improve on the already excellent usa cd,it didn't not due to shm format but by the mastering,i still live in hope!
