米津玄師とDAOKOが出会い、『打ち上げ花火、下から見るか?横から見るか?』とDAOKOが出会った。 必然的に出会った彼らが「打上花火」を完成させた。彼らが奏でる音楽は、壮大なミディアムバラードに、夕暮れから花火が上がるまでの情景、せつない恋心を歌い上げる。DAOKOと米津玄師が掛け合い、その声の切なさ、印象的なトラックは、映画に花を添える。米津玄師プロデュースの本楽曲は、印象的なピアノのイントロリフから、ストリングスを入れつつも、エレクトロトラックを融合させた現代のバラードが完成。本楽曲は8月18日公開、映画『打ち上げ花火、下から見るか?横から見るか?』主題歌に決定。2曲目には、映画『打ち上げ花火、下から見るか? 横から見るか?』の挿入歌となる「Forever Friends」を収録。「Forever Friends」は、テレビドラマシリーズ"If もしも"の一作品として1993年に放送された際のREMEDIOS描き下ろし楽曲をカバー。DAOKOの印象的な声で、新たな「Forever Friends」を幻想的に歌いあげる。 通常盤のみTVアニメ『神撃のバハムートVIRGIN SOUL』エンディングテーマとなり、江島啓一(サカナクション)が手掛ける「Cinderella step」を収録。
