He joins his schoolmates, including the heroic Ukai (Manosuke Mitsushima), who looks like Apollo God, the nihilistic Kira (Keishi Nagatsuka), and the good-natured Aso (Tokio Emoto), and spends his days having "adventures that test his courage". He is in love with his cousin Mina (Hoka Yahagi), who is suffering from lung disease, and enjoys his youth as a "bad boy" with his girl friend Akine (Kona Yamazaki) and Chitose (Mugi Kadowaki). However, their pure, free, and wild adolescence is fleeting as they try to live their "life" of their own will, and before long, they are swallowed up in the vortex of war. I won't be killed by war!
