[AOR誕生40周年記念 AOR CITY 1000] 元祖AORといわれるボズ・スキャッグス『シルク・ディグリーズ』発売40周年 ! 今なお人気が高い70～80年代のAOR作品をお求めやすい「千円」で発売 ! シリーズ監修はLight Mellowで知られる金澤寿和氏。大瀧詠一『A LONG VACATION』で知られるイラスト界の巨匠・永井博氏が本シリーズの共通アートワークを提供。 ◇1933年、シカゴ生まれ(2006年没)。幼い頃から教会で歌い、高校時代あのサム・クックと同級生だったというのは有名な話。後年、レコーディングにも参加し、素晴らしい掛け合いを聴かせてくれた。1962年にデビューし、ヴェルヴェットのようなスムースな歌声とジャズ～ソウルの要素をミックスしたスタイルで「別れたくないのに」(全米2位)など多くのヒットを残した。本作はレコードのA面にAOR楽曲、B面にジャズ・スタンダードを配した異色作。プロデューサーにジェイ・グレイドンを迎え、デヴィッド・フォスターやペイジズ (Mr.ミスター)の2人、キーンの2人、ロビー・ネヴィルらが参加している。 ◆期間生産限定盤 (2018年3月31日まで) / 世界初CD化 / AOR誕生40周年記念 / ライナーノーツ / オリジナル発売日: 1986年
