バンド名をBAROQUEと大文字表記に変え、怜 (Vo)と圭 (Gt)の2人の体制となってから初音源となる本アルバムは、ライブサポート同様、TOKIE (B)、かどしゅんたろう (Ds)を迎えた新たなBAROQUEサウンドを創り上げている。タイトル『plametary secret』には"惑星 (=この世)の秘密"という意味があり、この作品自体が"夜空に広がる星々を人々の命の光になぞらえ、ひとりひとりの魂こそがこの宇宙を創造するうえで必要不可欠な、唯一無二な存在である"という人間の根源に深くコンタクトする内容をテーマに描かれている。初期BAROQUEを彷彿させた前作『ノンフィクション』から劇的な変化を遂げた本作は、バンド・サウンドを押し進めた楽曲「memento」に加え、エッジーな音響にも挑戦。バンド史上とびきりポップでありながらも、とびきり世界観をもったアルバム。アルバム・テーマを元に制作された新鋭クリエーターTAKASHI KONDOが手掛けたオブジェを起用したジャケットのアートワークにも注目。
