The brush shape is round/paddle shaped (slightly smaller than Hakuhodo's J110) - so it's a good, basic blush brush that people would want to have in their kit. Soft but densely packed hair, and deposits a suitable amount of pigment on the cheeks without being too heavy. I would say the softness is definitely comparable to the Hakuhodo. I've used it most with my Shiseido Maquillage without having to buff off the blush afterward. No shedding so far either. The brush handle is slightly longer than the J110, but but it's made of a different material so it's lighter overall. It does feel a little light in my hands but I do have big hands for a woman. In summary, this is a very good basic blush brush, comparable to other "introductory" blush brushes from other brands and at a very good price point. As it's slightly smaller than the J110, women with smaller faces might benefit more from the Mizuho, in fact.

This is my first Mizuho brush and I suspect it won't be the last. When trying a new brand I opt for a blush brush which has a fairly standart shape and size - I find it a good way to assess a quality of material and craft without being distracted by some fancy shape or color. With this brush I can see that the quality is there! The hair is soft, densely packed, and the brush head keeps its shape well. It's rather firm, so I would say it's better suited for low- to medium-pigmented blush. The handle is relatively short and very lightweight (which may not be to everyone's liking), but still comfortable to hold.
This is a nice brush. I was slightly disappointed when I received it because I thought it would have a round brush head. It is actually round/ flat, paddle shaped. I think that with all the brushes there should be a picture of them at a side angle as well so the customer knows exactly what they are getting. Regardless, this brush is very soft for goat, has a nice weight to the handle, and overall is a great brush for anyone. It would be especially be nice for a beginner because it seems almost foolproof. You just can't go wrong with it. I love the quality of every item I have ordered from cdjapan and will continue to be a loyal customer.
