Even though I bought this nearly a year ago, I never got around to review it. Better late than never! I absolutely LOVE Matsuri Hino's work and was wondering when there would be an artbook. When I found out one was being released, I pre-ordered it immediately! I couldn't be more happier ^_^ Presentation[Cover]: The presentation of this artbook is simply gorgeous. The artbook comes with a dust jacket featuring Yuki and Zero on the cover while Kaname is featured on the back embracing Yuki's lower body, the illustration is just beautiful. The dust hacket is high quality, thick and slightly textured. A black and white version of the illustration is under the dust jacket. The dust jacket really holds up nicely! Presentation[Contents]: Upon opening the artbook, you're graced with a textured wine red page followed by a glossy black page with an elegant border and the Cross Academy logo with "Vampire Knight" overlaid on top. Very elegant. That's when the eye candy starts. Page after page you are graced with Matsuri Hino's beautiful work, ranging from her older, to her most recent works[At the time.]. The illustrations are printed on thick glossy paper with rich color and deep blacks. The art just bursts from the page! Many of her artworks featured on the tankobon's, including covers, are featured in the artbook in full page glory. LALA magazine covers are also featured. The book is layed out like so: There are 94 pages[Counting front and back.] in total, 77 pages are of artwork, 3 pages detail Matsuri Hino's process of illustrating the cover, which also includes a fold out illustration of the cover, 5 pages listing where all the illustrations were originally featured, and the last 2 pages are a message from Matsuri Hino herself[Wish I could read it!] and a pencil illustration of Yuki, Zero, and Kaname together[Would never happen otherwise!]. Quality: Like I mentioned above, the quality of this artbook is amazing. From the dust jacket to the very last page in the artbook, quality is top notch. The illustrations really benefited from the quality paper delivering rich color and deep blacks. The illustrations really pop! You wont be disappointed! Value: At 1800 yen, I couldn't believe the quality and effort that was put into the artbook. With so many full paged and two-page spread illustrations, and quality presentation, the value is incredible and certainly well worth it! Conclusion: If you're a fan of Vampire Knight or Matsuri Hino's work, you can not miss out on this artbook! Even if you aren't a fan of her work, I guarantee you will be. With so many beautiful illustrations and a gorgeous presentation, makes this one solid artbook! My Favorite Work: I would have to say that my favorite illustration would have to be the one on page 70-71. If you buy it or already have it, you'll know what I'm talking about. It's beautiful!
