Perfection...It's Like Heaven 5

This was the first album I ever heard from Moi Dix Mois, and it continues to be my favorite of their releases. Many of the older fans are skeptical due to the new members and the new sound, but I find this album to be the best Moi Dix Mois has released thus far. Every song is perfect, each time I listen to this album I fall into a sort of daze, to me it's like listening to the music of Angels. The composition is amazing, as is usual with Mana-sama's work. The various instruments blend together perfectly, and the lyrics are utterly astounding! Seth's voice is like that of a God's...I've never heard something so beautiful. I highly recommend purchasing this album. It's more than worth the money: the songs are mind-blowing and the booklet is just breath taking. Dixanadu is one of my favorite albums of all time, then, now, and forever.

MDiXM - DiXANADU 5

Well it's a good album , but i like mora juka's era because the sound it's more like Mana is , ENIGMATIC POWER ELEGANCE , a good songs from this album are Angelica Metaphysical Xanadu (but i feel like this one need to have a better ending) but this album it's a treasure just for this song LILAC OF DAMNATION just the only one song that sounds like a truelly MDiXM just a little point , i'm for sure that song singin by Juka was a Masterpiece

DIXANADU - the pinnacle of Moi dix Mois 5

DIXANADU is a departure from the Gothic romantic sounds of DIX INFERNAL and Nocturnal Opera, yet all of Moi dix Mois albums are good in their own right. DIXANADU brings us new elements lyrically as well as musically. Musically Moi dix Mois has come to another stage where the guitars are brought up more prominently as compared to the previous albums - the twin guitar sounds is more defined. Mana's signature usage of harpsichord and pipe organ are still present although they are cut down more minimally. This does not make the sound bad, though, less is often more and it is evident in the piece "Xanadu", for example. More electronic elements are also present in the album - evident in the songs "Neo Pessimiste" and "Exclude". Seth sings beautifully in songs such as "Metaphysical", and "Xanadu", hitting some high notes and relaying emotion in his voice. Overall, this album may sound difficult for old fans because it is a significant departure from Moi dix Mois' original romantic-gothic style but this album that they have put out is still good in it's own right. It's a masterpiece. Buy it!

Great but not everyone's favorite 5

Alright. DIXANADU. Great Moi dix Mois album; the overall sound isnt as...'messy' as it was in other MdM works like "Dix Inferno" or "Paegent". Of course, those two werent bad--not by any means--but there was just something about the sound that was shakey. Now, here, in Dixanadu; the sound that Mana produces is cleaner, and smoother, compared to his other post-Malice Mizer works, using more electronic elements this time around. Exclude and Neo Pessemist are perfect examples of this. As always, Mana and MdM are as impressive as ever, and they only get better even though they're plenty good already. Of course, I'm an MdM fan no matter what they do as long as it isnt something thats totally not them... Most people complain that they like Juka better--and thats their oppinion. To me they both sound almost exactly the same when it comes to their voice... Seth is just smoother and Juka was louder... It more or less depends on your tastes when it comes to DIXANADU. You'll either love it with all the strength of your fandom (like moi. XD) or you wont be so impressed by it. Either way, I reccomend it if you ARE a MdM fan. ~G~

I cannot believe that I forgot to write review about this CD. (T_T) I listen to this CD all the time , the songs on Dixanadu truly reflect Moi dix Mois at its best. I also own the limited ediiton instrumental release of this album ( i love it that much! ) <3 Angelica and Dixanadu are two of the most beautiful songs and the poster was great too. If you havent purchsed this CD yet, you should!

This album is just incredible. Seths's voice is mind-blowing (I might even go as far as saying it's slightly better then Juka's XD) and the guitar parts are so stunning you just have to stop what you're doing and listen to them. The music as a whole is wonderful and you can just lose yourself in it when listening to it.

for those who doesnt listen to m10m anymore after juka left because of the differ in style and vocalist, you should give this album as a try. i think its true that seth voice sounds a litlle bit dull/boring/flat or whatever in beyond the gate and lamentful miss single, but seth really well perform in this album. his voice and death grunt is very good. in beyond the gate and lamentfull miss single, the music is quite heavy and much more guitar than the other 2 previous album, i now that its new to mana-sama style, but in dixanadu its kind heavy, but its not too heavy and its still has the m10m symphonic and dramatic melody (m10m roots) rather than beyond the gate.

Quite a few negative reviews regarding the "new" Moi Dix Mois. I hear the difference, sure, but I don't think this new incarnation is bad at all. If anything, I love the albums quite a bit. I think Seth has a slightly nicer voice than Juka, and I'm definately curious about DVD recordings of this tour, especially as it will show Sugiya and Hayato, who joined the band permanently by now. <3 The re-recordings of Pessimiste (Neo Pessimist) and Tentation (Last Temptation) are quite nice, though different. Other memorable songs are Metaphysical, Exclude and Lamentful Miss. The European edition has an extra disc, the Lamentful Miss single.

Meh It's alright.. 4

Not a bad album overall, It was interesting to hear the remix version of Pessimist(as neo pessimist) and Temptation (as last tempation) but other than those, only Xanadu was good enough to leave impression for me.

Great. 5

So, so beautiful. I think it's virtually perfect. Of course it has little shortcomings here and there but: - surely there is a better production than on Beyond the Gate; - Seth's voice is deep, warm, passionate, and just awesome. My favourites are Angelica, Lilac of Damnation, Xanadu, Metaphysical.... well, let's make all of it. Definitely recommended

Neither the worst nor the best... 3

I would have to say that this is certainly not their best album, but it is by no stretch their worst either. It is a step above "Beyond the Gate" but still below "Dix Inferno" and "Nocturnal Opera" I feel that Seth does show more of a vocal range than he did in 'Beyond the Gate',but is still not yet up to par with Juka, and the songs are not horrible, but they're not memorable either. I really did not like the remake of "Pessimiste", I think it lacked the power of the original song...Other than that, there weren't any tracks that I disliked for say, yet there were none that I would say I loved either. All in all, if you are a Moi Dix Mois fan, you probably will be sucked into buying this album (I know I was) which is not horrible. If anything, if you have a friend who happens to have the CD, burn a copy from then rather than buy this. If not, I really do not think this CD is a necessity for a Moi Dix Mois fan, but don't feel stupid for buying it any way. I think you won't be disappointed, nor impressed.

Pretty Good 4

Overall, it's a pretty solid album. I remember expressing in my review of "Lamentful Miss" about how much I hated Mana's new mixer, and that sentiment hasn't changed at all. They still are very, very terrible. I think If mana had changed back, the cd would have had a better sound to it and I would have enjoyed it more instead of getting annoyed constantly by the lack of balance in each track. The songs are solid enough, and after fixing the mixing problems as much as I could myself through itunes, decided that it's a pretty good cd. I personally liked Beyond the Gate better because the energy was so high in that mini album, and in DIXANADU Seth just sounds out of it many times. As always, I wish he'd just belt it and sing out. If you're already an MDM fan, buy this cd, but if you wand a first cd from this band, pick up Nocturnal Opera or Beyond the Gate instead.

Not Bad 4

I personally prefer Seth's vocals because he attempts more of a flavor than does Juka who is just a little more power. In some tracks, the vocals could have been better or stopped short of perfect satisfaction, but I'm glad to say Seth gave it his 90-99%. K was pretty impressive as always and Mana actually tried to be a little different. Less organ and harpsichord abuse. This album is definitely less stale after repeated listening than the last single and a few of the other albums. My interest for Mana's music fizzled out a bit at the end of the Juka era, but Beyond the Gate and Lamentful Miss helped spark it again, and this album was pretty cool. It's worth a listen definitely and my favorite track is actually "Xanadu" because it builds, elevates and airs out. Hard to describe.

Perfect 5

This album is more than excellent. Moi dix Mois have created a new world. The album includes faster and slower songs, but all are wonderful and worth to buy. The booklet is also beautiful.
