Secretary of Sensation

This series brings the label's works to Japan. Isolde Touch=Asha Sheshadri is a composer and multimedia artist based in Southern California. She has released several cassettes under the name of Asha Sheshadri, including "Flowers In Glass Cases" (2012) on Digitalis Limited, a subsidiary of Digitalis Recordings, a US label known for releases such as Peder Mannerfelt. Secretary of Sensation" ( 2015 ) is the second release under the Isolde Touch moniker, following "Polyvalence" ( 2013 ) on Further Records ( Entr'acte ) in Belgium. This is the second album (the first as a CD album) following "Polyvalence" ( 2013 ) released by Further Records. It was composed and mixed between 2014 and 2015 by the ACRE Project, an environmental community in Steuben, Wisconsin. It tells the story of seven chapters (seven songs) that took place in "Our Town". The experimental and silky sound created by deconstructing and reconstructing musical and acoustic elements such as piano, voice, poetry (text), electronic sounds, and rhythm is reminiscent of Madalyn Merkey and Holly Herndon. It is truly a new generation experimental pop music concoction.

コンセプト力の強い電子音楽から、熱を発するフリーなインプロ、追求していく現代のテクノへ、世界をみても他に類を見ないレーベル〈Entr'acte〉。そのレーベル作品を日本に伝えるシリーズ。トータル第14弾はIsolde Touch! Isolde Touch=Asha Sheshadriは、南カリフォルニアを拠点として活動をする作曲家/マルチメディア・アーティスト。彼女はPeder Mannerfeltなどのリリースでも知られるUSの〈Digitalis Recordings〉傘下である〈Digitalis Limited〉からAsha Sheshadri名義でカセット『Flowers In Glass Cases』(2012)などをリリースしている。Isolde Touch名義としては、ベルギーの〈Entr'acte〉からリリースした本作『Secretary of Sensation』(2015)が、〈Further Records〉からリリースされた『Polyvalence』(2013)に次いで二作目となる(CD作品としては初)。本作は、ウィスコンシン州スチューベンの環境コミュニティ「ACREプロジェクト」にて、2014年から2015年にかけて作曲・ミックスされた。「わたしたちの街」で起きた7章(7曲)の物語となっているという。ピアノ、声、詩(テキスト)、電子音、リズムなどの音楽・音響要素を解体・再構成することで生まれた実験的かつシルキーなサウンドは、Madalyn MerkeyやHolly Herndonを思わせる。まさに新世代エクスペリメンタル・ポップ・ミュージック・コンクレートといえよう。
