This album is pretty similar to Chatmonchy's other releases -- catchy rock songs are the order of the day -- but the songs themselves are (on the whole) better than previous albums. A bunch of wonderful pop-rock songs litter the album; a few of the better ones include the pounding "Make Up! Make Up!", "Shangri-La" (a hit single) and "Bus Romance" (my favorite song on the record, with a good drum part and lovely backing vocals). As before, there is a ballad or two to offer a break between rock songs, and to give the album a little bit of needed variety. The girls do try to stretch out a bit here and there, with piano and clarinet showing up on the track "Sunao," and "Mobile World" utilizes some vocal effect tricks that have generally been absent from past Chatmonchy releases. If I had to make a recommendation on one Chatmonchy album to buy, this would be it. The band rocks out and has energy to spare, and the songs themselves are catchier than ever before.
