NY最下層で生きる兄弟が、一度だけの銀行強盗を決行。逃走中に投獄された最愛の弟を助けようと悪戦苦闘する男の一夜を鋭く描いた衝撃作! ――ニューヨークの最下層で生きるコニーと知的障害者の弟ニック。2人は銀行強盗を行うが、弟だけが疾走中に捕まり投獄されてしまう。コニーは弟の保釈金1万ドルを年上のコーリーに支払ってもらおうと保釈保証人の事務所まで連れ出す。しかし、弟のニックは獄中で暴れ病院に送られていた。それを聞いたコニーは病院へ忍び込み、警察が監視するなか弟を取り返そうとする。顔面を包帯で巻かれ車イスに乗った弟を外へ連れ出し、言葉巧みに他人の家に入り込んだコニーだったが、テレビのニュースでも銀行強盗の犯人として兄弟2人が大々的に取り上げられ、次第に追い込まれていく・・・。
