Description
DVD release from the film "Hayabusa" depicting an unmanned spacecraft named Hayabusa and people supporting this spacecraft. Directed by Yukihiko Tsutsumi of "20th Century Boys." Stars Yuko Takeuchi and Toshiyuki Nishida. Plot: On June 13, 2010, an unmanned spacecraft Hayabusa, launched by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in 2003, returned from an asteroid named Itokawa. It accompliched to collect samples from the asteroid, and it was the world's first exploit. The story depicts how the members of this project counter problems with big pressure and deal with them for seven years.

JAXA全面協力! 7年間、60億キロ―― 日本中に勇気をくれたはやぶさとそれを支えた人々を描く感動の物語。――古本屋でアルバイトをしている水沢恵のもとに、一本の電話がかかってくる。その声の主は宇宙科学研究所(現: JAXA 宇宙航空研究開発機構)の的場だった・・・2010年6月13日。小惑星〈イトカワ〉調査を目的に、2003年5月に日本から打ち上げられた小惑星探査機はやぶさが地球に帰還した。月以外の天体からサンプルを採取して持ち帰るというミッションは、NASAでさえ成し得なかった人類初の快挙だった。7年間、60億キロにも及ぶ旅は、絶体絶命のピンチの連続。大きなプレッシャーと次々と降りかかるトラブルに、メンバーたちはどのように立ち向かっていったのか・・・。
