「緋牡丹博徒」シリーズと並ぶ名花・藤純子の「日本女侠伝」シリーズ、第1弾。高倉健、若山富三郎ら豪華キャストで贈る任侠映画の魅力満載。監督は山下耕作。 ――明治の末期、石炭ブームに沸く九州博多。男まさりの気風と度胸で評判の鉄火芸者・信次は、匂うばかりのあでやか美人。土地のやくざ・万安一家と手を組んで、九州一の炭坑主にのしあがろうとする大須賀などになびくものではない。信次が心の中で惚れているのは、花田炭坑の納屋頭・清吉。信次は大須賀勢のドスに囲まれても艶然と微笑み返すだけ。やがて大須賀は、買収をキッパリ拒む花田炭坑を爆破。堪忍袋の緒が切れて単身殴り込んだ清吉は、宿敵大須賀を叩き斬って自らも死んでゆく。血染めの清吉を抱く信次・・・。 ニュープリント・コンポーネントマスター。
