Kumiko Akiyoshi is the star of this moving tale. Her middle-aged husband has a torrid affair with the younger and prettier Kumiko Takeda. At the end, he drives out into the wilderness, douses gasoline all over his car, enters it and sets fire to it. The final scene is at his funeral. Miss Akiyoshi does as fine job as the grieving widow.

This is the earliest movie with lovely Kumiko Takeda that I found in San Francisco's Japantown. It stars Kumiko Akiyoshi who is older and less pretty than Takeda Shojo. Kumiko Takeda has a small but memorable role as a young girl having an affair with a middle-aged man who disgraces himself and commits suicide. It is a moving tale.
