Woo intense from the outset, I don't think you're meant to 'enjoy' this movie, rather learn? Being English, coming from the once proud country, I can see similarities between our two countries, but obviously at the same time, a different world all together. I no you'll disagree totally, but the younger Japanese men portrayed here, in Office training and as young officers being fanatical about continuing the war to an impossible victory, they'd never witnessed the carnage firsthand and I could imagine that, without too much encouragement the birth of the suicide bomber, the acting in the movie is fantastic, as are the may-cup and costumes... I hope that the Japanese will be able to use this movie as an education maybe. to help see the waste and pointless acts of what we know are those that occur in an environment of both actual fighting and at home, its all simply... 'war!'
