2枚目の全国発売となる今作。前回の『Loser』のような未熟さや荒々しさはなく、バンド名の由来である造語「三様の感情」を具現化したようなミニ・アルバムである。拙いながらも感情を繰り出すボーカルとギター、激しくも繊細なベース、すべての音をまとめ突き抜けるようなドラム。ラブソングというにはどこか退廃的で暗鬱な歌詞の表題作「Howling」は耳に残るメロディと演奏でライブでも人気の一曲。その他大勢を皮肉りながら、アップテンポで奏でられる「Recall」「Gray」「Collar」はダウナーな歌詩と激しくぶつかりあう演奏でTHREE CHORDの十八番ともいうべき楽曲に仕上がっている。また、5曲目には根強い人気を誇るファン必聴のあの曲が収録されている。まだまだ知名度が低いバンドではあるものの、前作がタワーレコード新宿店で面出しされ、自主企画イベントを老舗のライブハウスである下北沢SHELTERや新宿LOFTで行なうなど、今最も注目すべきバンドである。 THREE CHORDとは、「三様の感情」を指し示す造語。その名の通り、まるで趣向の違う音楽を聴いてきた3人が2007年に集結。 都内、横浜を中心に月3～8本というハイペースでライブ活動を展開し、ロック・インディーズシーンに名乗りをあげている。ロック、グランジ、パンク、ハードコア、オルタナティヴに加え、ポップの要素まで取り入れた類を見ない楽曲は、一度聴けばその衝撃に感動すら覚える。 激しさのなかに暗鬱を抱え奏でられる楽曲と、痛みや青臭い衝動を吐き出すような詩。切迫し他者を突き放すような、荒削りながらも唯一無二のライブパフォーマンスで注目を集める。 人間の抱える負の感情、鬱屈した側面を晒す、オルタナティブ・ロック・バンド。2011年2月、初のフルアルバムにして、全国流通盤『Loser』をリリース。下北沢SHELTERにて行われたレコ発ツーマンを皮切りに、レコ発ツアー『負け犬達の行進』を行なう。2012年2月15日、『アカイヤミ vol.10』を、過去最大規模となる、新宿LOFTにて開催。5月22日、下北沢SHELTERでのレコ発を皮切りに、レコ発ツアーを行なう。
