[角川シネマコレクション2017年 5月度: 追悼・松方弘樹] この恋に生き、この愛に死のう・・・。初雪を朱に染めて、炎と燃える凄絶の剣! ――元禄時代の江戸。剣一筋に生きる知心流の丹下典膳と堀内流の中山安兵衛は、皮肉にも両流派の抗争から血を呼んだ高田の馬場の決闘が奇縁となり、深い友情で結ばれた。その高田の馬場での戦いから安兵衛の人気は上がったが、その場にいながら助勢をしなかった典膳は同門の仲間から非難され、安兵衛との決闘を強いられたが、武士道の意地と友情から拒絶した。やがて、新妻・千春と仲睦まじく日々を過ごしていた典膳の運命の糸は、大きく揺れ始める・・・。初DVD化。
