This movie is it's own world. It is part of "Moon Project", by Gackt. It was released several albums, one novel and this movie around the story and concept which has own timeline long many centuries. Could be inspired or influenced or trying to show some connection with royal families? Story is about what looks like being vampire, being human, maturing and growing up. As you grow, you change. A bit social movie as well. Everyone who wants to get the point and concept behind the movie should watch it at least two or three times. There's plenty of things to think about it, characters, moments, words, find any relation to history, occultism, mysticism and such. Actually, there's a strange and mystic atmosphere all around "Moon Saga". On the 2005 Diabolos tour final performance dancers costumes had a resemblance to aliens. Acting by three musical acts and three main characters Gackt, Hyde and Leehom Wang was medicore, a bit pushed. Because filmography is about acting than this movie is not that great, actually Kanata Hongo who played the role of young Sho done better his job then anyone. There moments of every actor, for some not, but it is as it is. Who obviously like and is interested to Gackts work "Moon Saga", or not, must know that this movie is medicore, while concept a bit difficult to understand at first, or second time, perhaps even further.

Why is it a strange movie? Well, there are vampires, yakuza, matrix-style action, yada, yada... But what makes this film great is GACKT! and HYDE! The musical score, namely orenji no taiyou... And well, there is also Lee Hom. And the story is kind of strange for those who don't live in Gackt's world... But it is definitely interesting and I like the brotherhood portrayed in the story.

I watched this when it first came out and needless to say, I fell in love. This was the biggest stepping stone for me leading to complete submersion in the Jrock world. So forever, this movie is close to my heart. I love it!!! Everyone should see it!

Moon Child is a vampire/gangster movie. HYDE and GACKT are the main actors in the film. If you are into action, gangsters, and vampires, then Moon Child is the perfect movie.

Well, what can be said about Moon Child that hasn't already been said. Fantastic movie, in that cult kind of way. Gackt & Hyde both perform well, particularly in the more dramatic moments of the movie. It's impossible not to be moved by some of their performances, particularly in the second half of the movie. The direction is perhaps the only weak point, but that can be forgiven. Moon Child really is a great movie, and I'm glad I finally own my own copy instead of borrowing others ^_^

I totally love the show! Except for Wang Lee Hom. I thought that he spoilt the whole show. Gackt and Hyde were so hot in the show! Thats why i'm definitely happy and satisfied with having bought it. (Except for the one obstruction) A must-buy for all fans of Gackt and Hyde!

This movie, in short, is EXCELLENT. Not just because of the main actors being Gackt and Hyde (L'Arc~en~Ciel) are in it, but it has a beautifuly story to it as well. It may seem cliched to some. But for me, I haven't seen many movies like this, so I enjoyed it. During the movie, they speak Japanese AND Mandarin, which is good for learning purposes as well. :)

Ready your credit cards, everyone! This is Gackt and HYDE's first movie debut, and they're doing it together, on one screen! Why not? This movie is a true gem, and any fan of either (or both, like myself) of these amazing musicians should buy it as soon as they can. Their acting is also surprisingly good, so don't worry about stale acting or less-than-enthusiastic lines.

Gackt and HYDE are musical geniuses, but this movie showed that they are great actors as well! This movie was very enjoyable and had lots of drama as well as some comedy. It was also translated very well! I really cannot say enough about this DVD! Buy it! Trust me, you won't be sorry!

Amazing movie, of course! In my opinion, the subtitles seemed a bit "jumpy," but it was translated very well.

This movie has one unique plot! You might get confused by the way they act if the viewer does not know these two: Gackt and Hyde. Why, they are two of the most talented (they are musicians) and gorgeous men of Japan! The viewer does not have to be a fan to like this movie, because the story involves numerous scenes of gun firing, "gangster" killings, friendship, love, and vampire hotness. With Gackt (Sho) and Hyde (Kei) together in one movie and doing a duet in the song "Orenji No Taiyou", how can the viewer not like this movie?

The story of love and friendship on the harsh streets of Mallepa in 2014 is not an ordinary vampire movie where the theme is usually the lust for the flesh. Yet, it's neither an action gun firing movie where the hero defeats the vilain. I think Moon Child is a very unique movie in many ways. Both Gackt and Hyde are fantastic muscians; however, some of their behavior and appearances (especially Gackt's) can be a little confusing to those not aware of their personalities. It's not neccessary to be a fan of theirs to enjoy this excellent movie, but it certainly can help. On the other hand, every single Gackt and Hyde fan would love to have this DVD!

the plot wasn't as good as it could've been, but overall, it was very well-done, and even if you don't like the story line, who can say no to two hours of oogling two of the hottest men ever to set foot in japan in tight leather pants XP

With this purchase you cannot lose. Gackt, HYDE, great acting, perfect English subtitles, and basically a STEAL at this price. Great movie, highly recommended.
