[Machine Translation] Kohei Ueno, currently in his fourth year at the University of the Arts, was the youngest ever winner of the 2011 Japan Wind and Percussion Competition in the saxophone division, and was also awarded a special prize in the grand prize category, which is given to all divisions of the competition. This debut disc includes "classic saxophone tunes" and "standard saxophone tunes" that are used in competitions and entrance examinations, and is designed to convey the appeal of the saxophone and its tunes.

2011年日本管打楽器コンクール サクソフォン部門において史上最年少で優勝し、全部門に贈られる最優秀賞の特別対象も受賞した、現在芸大4年生の上野耕平。今回のデビュー盤は、サックスの"クラシック曲"にあたるものから、コンクールや入試試験の課題曲になるような"定番曲"を収録し、クラシックサックスとその曲の魅力を伝える内容になっている。
