I have been a fan of Macross for a while but hadn't seen any of Frontier so decided to take a chance on this movie. I knew I'd probably like it but I was unprepared for how much I would. The movie is beautiful. The scenes of the city and space and sprawling works of art. The really big draw for this Macross is (unsurprisingly) the music. Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee's songs are a good mix of rock and pop and serve the story very well. I can't wait to see the series. The extras on the Blu-ray are pretty good but I'm sure I'd appreciate them more if I spoke the language. Still, the little product commercials from Sheryl and Ranka are fun. As for the game, "Trial Frontier," it's pretty fun but as other people have mentioned, it's more of a demo-like game than anything else. I enjoyed it but it got pretty difficult in the later missions. I'm sure a more experienced gamer or someone who understood the controls a bit better might enjoy it more but I consider it more of an extra feature to the movie rather than a full game.

The great Macross Frontier movie finally come out. Some people will be disapointed and will prefer the original Macross Frontier anime serie but this movie is still very good. Bluray picture is amazing and the movie have the advantage to present a shorter story yes but a different story. So some will be surprised to discover a new Macross frontier story. The first press edition bluray comes with a nice packaging, little book and a piece of the film roll. Bad point, yes there is one sorry. The game. This is just a better 'HD' version of the PSP game Macross Ultimate Frontier with less missions (12 if I remember well), less mechas and less characters (only macros Frontier of course). I fnished the game in 3 hours but I must admit, with fun. In Conclusion, I will rate this pack with something between 3 and 4 due to the lack of the game. Fans will still be happy to have.
