When Ami Suzuki released her Free Free/Supermusic Maker single in 2007, I loved it. I also quite enjoyed the follow-up Potential Breakup Song cover. I was excited for the release of Dolce because I had so enjoyed the two singles prior to its release. The album turned out to be a random hodge-podge of songs and styles, and I went back to forgetting she was alive. When she released the single ONE with Nakata Yaustaka (who she worked with for Free Free/Supermusic Maker) I took notice rght away. For one, I was expecting a lot based on their previous work together; and for two, the song was totally fantastic. Another strong single came, and the album Supreme Show followed shortly after. Supreme Show is almost exactly the album I wanted when I first heard Free Free. All the songs are done with Nakata, and he weaves a non-stop club pounding web of beats. The flow from each track is continuous and perfectly fluid. It's actually really hard to skip a track or hit 'stop' once you've started. The album still manages to have varied tempos and (somewhat) varied sounds throughout. The variance of sounds/production/styles is indeed hindered by the overwhelming strength of Nakata as a producer, but he seems to be well aware of this issue, and does his best to compensate for that by making everything painfully catchy, and retardedly danceable. Supreme Show is a great club and dance album, and a really fun listen. The limitations of its Nakata-produced sound hinder it only somewhat. He does manage to bring a real j-pop feel, and an unexpected sweetness to some of the tracks, but I feel that one album is enough, and Ami doesn't need to work with him again. They've reached the limit of what they can accomplish together. This is the album I wanted, and essentially, I am satisfied.

Produced by Disco-Pop king, Yasutaka Nakata, Supreme Show delivers exactly what its title states. A spectacular Dance/Pop album, glossed and polished to perfection, crammed full of danceable, club-ready tracks. Those who know Ami Suzuki from her previous works may not know how to handle the absence of her clear, sultry voice; which has been Auto-Tuned to the extremes to match the heavy electronic tones set throughout the album. But for someone looking for a little magic, who's willing to try something new? Supreme Show is the perfect example of a fun record of the highest quality.
Being interested from the beautiful and unique CD cover and reading about Suzuki's career I decided to purchase this album to see what she was like. And man, I can't believe I haven't been a fan of her before. What a fantastic album and a great way for new fans like myself to be introduced to Ami by a new album celebrating her 10th anniversary. The songs are all upbeat and catchy, I also love how it is like Madonna's "Confessions" album where a lot of the songs don't end but rather continue on to the next one to make it seem like a club. My favourite songs are "SUPER MUSIC MAKER", "can't stop the DISCO", "change my life", "flower" and the best song on the album "TEN". "TEN" is a delightful song with a really simple message that tells the story of Ami's career and all the troubles she went through but she still had hope to continue on the music industry. I can't wait till "Reincarnation" and I would absolutely recommend "Supreme Show" to anyone.
This is Ami's 10th year commemoration album, sure she has done a great job with her new producer Nakata Yasukata this year. My favorite songs (along with the single-tracks ONE and can't stop the DISCO) are TEN and change my life. The cover art and the poster are very well done and fit very well with the style of the album, I hope Ami will stay many years in the music scene doing great music as always.
