What CDJapan Is Listening To . . .
May 11,2007
Hello again,
There's not much new this week since we're still catching up with vacation, so I thought I'd talk about what we're listening to right now.
While were all big Jpop fans out here, for some reason lately I've been really big into American music again. First of all, I've been really bumping Nine Inch Nails' "Year Zero." The album isn't as complex as some of Reznor's earlier works, but where it lacks in complexity it picks up in stylistic maturity. At first I was a little dissapointed but "Year Zero" quickly grew into habbit. Current favorite track would have to be "The Good Soldier" (Boom!)
My most anticipated upcoming album is another American release, Tim Armstrong's "A Poet's Life." I've always been a huge Rancid fan, and while "A Poet's Life" sounds very little like Rancid, it has a really amazing lo-fi reggae vibe. I can see myself listening to this album non-stop through summer.
Armstrong's actually going to be giving the album away for free on the net, and the music videos are all available on YouTube, so if you're interested definetly check out that link.
Here's a quick survey of what everyone else is listening to:
Sr. Makiya:
Yo Hitoto - "Hanamizuki" (and all second album)
Sr. Uchino
Avril Lavigne - "The Best Damn Thing"
Miho-Miho
Bon Jovi - "Have a Nice Day" / Shikao Suga - "Parade"

What CDJapan Is Listening To . . . Comments
Well...
I'm not too sure my "most anticipated release" will even be released. I'm looking forward to the "Memories Off #5 Encore" OST, but last I've heard it will be released with the Special Edition of the game. I hope 5pb is going to release teh OST seperatly as well AND that I'll get a chance to buy it at CDJapan. While the game only releases in July I'm keeping my fingers crossed to hear some good news about the OST ^^
Currently listening to: "Memories Off - Piano Collection Vol.2"

I can believe!
Hey Shuwarai,I've never played "Memories Off" nor heard a soundtrack from the series, but you sounded pretty devoted and that made me want to check it out. I tried out the vocal collection for "Memories Off #5 Togireta Film," (which is the most recent thing we have samples for) and I can see how one gets hooked on the series. I'm just going to ignore the cheeeeeesy faux-English intro and say my favorite track of the samples I heard was "Believe."

Ah, "Believe" is a good song, I would personally go for the "By your side" song. Among my other most favorite (and a bit older songs) are: "Progress" from the "Memories Off - Sorekara - Character File 04" CD and "Tsumetai taiyo" (not sure about spelling) from the "Memories Off 2nd Mini Album Collection Vol.4 Tsubame Minami" CD
And just so you know, I haven't played any of the games (yet) but I love the OVAs and collected a good number of artbooks from the game(s). I hope to one day play the game, but getting them to Europe isn't always easy. But I'm not 'only' a Memories Off fan, I also like other anime and artists out there. I just love Memories off related music and songs a bit more than the rest :)

Ah, the ballads are nice too! I'll keep my eyes open for "Memories Off" releases in the future, so thanks for the tip.
