Heart, Beating In The Dark (English Subtitles)

After destroying the 2006 Rotterdam Film Festival during a 13-film feature to its director Shunichi Nagasaki, the brooding masterpiece "Heart, beating in the dark" comes now to DVD.
In 1982 director Shunichi Nagasaki created the original "Heart, beating in the darkeness" as an attempt to overcome personal problems. Shot in 8mm film, the original told the story of couple fleeing from their home after murdering their own child. Subtle, painful, not shocking but extremely brilliant, the film became a defining work of the Japanese independant cinema scene of the 1980s, though it remains unscene by many cinema fans worldwide.
Now the year is 2006 and Nagasaki has decided to revisit and update his 1982 masterpiece. Leads Shigeru Muroi and Takashi Naito return to their original roles set now 25 years after the event to review what sins time has washed away. They enounter another couple (Noriko Eguchi and Shoichi Honda) in a situation that in both age and degree mirrors their own, only to look into the mirror and see how much wiser 25 years have made them.
"Heart, beating in the dark" comes out October 27. The original 8mm classic is also coming soon to DVD.
