[MB102] Blush Brush

Good basic blush brush

The brush shape is round/paddle shaped (slightly smaller than Hakuhodo's J110) - so it's a good, basic blush brush that people would want to have in their kit. Soft but densely packed hair, and deposits a suitable amount of pigment on the cheeks without being too heavy. I would say the softness is definitely comparable to the Hakuhodo. I've used it most with my Shiseido Maquillage without having to buff off the blush afterward. No shedding so far either. The brush handle is slightly longer than the J110, but but it's made of a different material so it's lighter overall. It does feel a little light in my hands but I do have big hands for a woman. In summary, this is a very good basic blush brush, comparable to other "introductory" blush brushes from other brands and at a very good price point. As it's slightly smaller than the J110, women with smaller faces might benefit more from the Mizuho, in fact.

The quality is impressive!

This is my first Mizuho brush and I suspect it won't be the last. When trying a new brand I opt for a blush brush which has a fairly standart shape and size - I find it a good way to assess a quality of material and craft without being distracted by some fancy shape or color. With this brush I can see that the quality is there! The hair is soft, densely packed, and the brush head keeps its shape well. It's rather firm, so I would say it's better suited for low- to medium-pigmented blush. The handle is relatively short and very lightweight (which may not be to everyone's liking), but still comfortable to hold.

Great Brush

This is a nice brush. I was slightly disappointed when I received it because I thought it would have a round brush head. It is actually round/ flat, paddle shaped. I think that with all the brushes there should be a picture of them at a side angle as well so the customer knows exactly what they are getting. Regardless, this brush is very soft for goat, has a nice weight to the handle, and overall is a great brush for anyone. It would be especially be nice for a beginner because it seems almost foolproof. You just can't go wrong with it. I love the quality of every item I have ordered from cdjapan and will continue to be a loyal customer.

[CMP527] Eye Shadow Brush

Unique, great quality

I choose this CMP527 brush as I have a lot of eyelid space and this size is great for blending and applying transition colors. I love it for mid-tone eyeshadows and the blend of squirrel/pony helps to deposit a perfect soft wash without being too sheer and amazingly, no harsh lines. This is soft but not as soft as pure squirrel or some goat brushes. Its tips are soft while the side is slightly scratchier. Comparing this with my other Japanese brushes, this brush is very similar, slight shorter, to Hakuhodo J5522. Haku is fuller, more tapered and pointier. After wash, the CMP527 is closer in shape to Wayne Goss 19 which is smaller. This is a very well-designed brush with great craftsmanship; but it's not the softest. I feel other makers like Koyudo & Chiku have excellent or even better brushes. However, this is a very unique brush due to the squirrel/ pony blend and it excels to serve specific purpose.

A nice blending brush

I use this brush for the finishing touches in my eye make-up, when I need to seamlessly blend eyeshadows. It does the job very well thanks to a perfect balance between softness and firmness. The brush is also quite large but has a pointed tip, which makes it comfortabe to use both on the mobile lid and in the crease.

[CMP512] Multi Face Brush

Great value for money

I've never had much luck with duofibre brushes until now - I've found the ones I've tried to be either too soft and floppy or too stiff and pokey. This brush offers a perfect combination of soft tip and dense base. With this brush one can easily pick up enough product and effectively blend it. For such a high quality I think the price of this brush is very reasonable.

[CMP550] Eye Brow Brush

CMP550 works great for brow powder

The all-black design of this eyebrow brush from Mizuho's CMP series makes it look so sleek and stylish. But apart from how great it looks, the short handle makes the brush feel incredibly comfortable to use. I wouldn't say the water badger bristles feel soft, but that's exactly why my brow products seem to last so much longer: I'm not just applying them on top of my brow hair. While the tip isn't thin enough for me to draw individual brow hairs, it does make applying brow powders very quick and easy.

[CMP552] Lash Brush , Brow Groomer

CMP552 is great for finishing brows

The synthetic bristles of this spoolie brush are firm enough to soften the application of brow powder, but soft enough to prevent blending away all of your hard work. It's even better at softening the harsh lines of a brow pencil. The tapered shape also makes it easy to achieve a soft and natural looking result no matter what products I use, whether it's a brow gel, pomade or powder.

[MB100] Face Powder Brush

Lovely fuss-free brush for daily use

Fuss-free angled face brush that can be used for both loose and pressed powder, though I personally prefer using it for loose powder. The angled nature of the brush hairs make it easier to ensure that you don't miss any part of your face. It picks up powder easily and also deposits it on your skin equally well. There's no shedding that I've observed so far (I've washed my brush once already), no stray hairs, and the goat hair (sokoho) is soft (though obviously, not the softest as it is neither squirrel nor saikoho goat hair). The brush is beautiful and sleek to look at. It's also nicely balanced. I'm not sure of the material used for the handle, but it's light without being flimsy. I'd strongly recommend this for people looking for a fuss-free powder brush you'd want to use on a daily basis. It's early days yet, but the brush also feels very low-maintenance to me, despite being a kumano fude. Nevertheless, it goes without saying such items should be taken care of properly.

[MB123] Eye Shadow Brush

Excellent brush for base eyeshadow

This is a lovely, functional brush for base eyeshadow. It's pine squirrel, so the hair is really soft on your eyelids and does not irritate your skin. It's also a good size for those with small eyes (I have monolids). As a point of comparison, the head is slightly narrower than the Hakuhodo J004G. I've used it for powder and mineral eyeshadow to good effect. Due to its material, I do not think it's a good choice for cream eyeshadow though I have not tried. The brush hair is thick and there is no splaying or shedding, even after washing. The handle is light in your hands, despite it being slightly longer than a Hakuhodo too.

[MB130] Eye Definer Brush

Excellent liner brush

Let me preface by saying I'm probably not using this brush for its intended purpose. As I have monolids, I use this brush to line my eyes instead (it works!) and work on what little crease I have. It's soft, it picks up powder and mineral eyeshadow well though it's probably not good enough for very defined work. But it works for my purposes and I love it. Elegant, slim brush that's easy to hold and work with. Mizuho brushes are truly worth the money and the MB line in particular, is a good price point that matches their quality.

[PM-4] Large Eye Shadow Brush

Good brush for base eyeshadow

It's a paddle-shaped brush with a really pretty pink handle (not cutesy childish pink but a sakura pink instead). Unfortunately mine had a few stray hairs sticking out but that's the reality with hand-made brushes. But there was no shedding. The good part was that this being pine squirrel, the brush is very soft, doesn't poke the eyelid and lays down base colour nicely and evenly. I've used for both mineral powder shadows and pressed powder eyeshadows and it picks up colour well for both types. I didn't try it for cream shadow. A warning to those with smaller eyes - I have monolids - is that this brush is likely to lean on the large side for such eyes so precision is not going to be good if that is what you are aiming for. If you wish for precision and better control, then this is likely not going to be the brush for you, despite the other very good qualities of this brush. If you have big, deep-set eyes, then this is not going to be a problem at all and you should definitely go for this brush.
