Description

Malice Mizer's limited collection box includes the band's first major label album "merveilles" featuring Gackt as the vocalist, live DVD "merveill-L'e space" which includes footage from "Tour '98 merveilles" that took place in May-July 1998, and their first promo clip compilation "merveilles-cinq parallele" on DVD. The box also comes with a bonus DVD that includes the 29-minute special TV programme "L'image de merveilles" packed with live videos that follows the band from their indie days until the open-air concert that took place in October, 1997. This never-before released material also includes original interviews, and behind-the scene footage. All of these items come housed in a wooden music box (205 mm x 150 mm x 68 mm) that plays strings section of "Bols de merveilles," the song included in the first album. Only 10,000 copies will be released. *Unless otherwise indicated, DVDs are region-2 encoded (Japan, Europe, and Middle East), and carry no subtitles.

neolog amazing! 5

Amazing collection of DVDs from one of the most influential visual kei bands of all time.
The collection includes the popular merveilles l'espace DVD, a stunning live performance.
This set also includes the mervielles album, Malice Mizer's most popular album, which includes a range of different styles of music all composed by MM.
The presentation music box in itself is beautiful and plays 'bois de merveilels'. This set is a must have for any Malice Mizer fan!

This one of the best thing I've ever bought. The box is so cute and a must have for any Malice Mizer fan=) I enjoyed it so much that I keept it in it's original packing.

I love this thing to death. I bought it mostly for the sake of the musicbox though, so I got a little disappointed when I found it to make creaking noises while playing. But it's still a really cool thing to have if you're a Malice Mizer-fan!

Nice box, how about the music? 5

As everyone else before me has stated, the quality of the box is superb, but what about the music? Is this the best J-Rock release ever? I wouldn't have clue, as I am not a bonafide J-Pop afficianado. One could decribe the music as theatrical, and even pompous. The band throw everything into the mix; strings, music-box, rock, synth-pop and even classical. It may sound like the band lack a cohesive direction, but being engaged in the visual arena, it's only logical the music borders on the cusp of show tunes. That said, the listener will be rewarded by what I humbly consider to be one of the greatest rock albums...period. 'Merveilles' really is one of those magical moments when the heavens open, the sun shines brighter, and all seems right with the world. The songs are melodic, angst ridden and on accasion, beautiful. The accompanying DVD's offer some insight into the group, playing at their peak. I like to listen to quality music no matter what the genre. Rest assured, all the reviewers here have it right.

Amazing 5

This box set is absolutely amazing! It was all I wanted and more! I couldn't play it on my TV, but I watched all of the dvds on my computer. The box is beautiful, although it is not painted, it is covered. The inside was amazing, with a velvet lining and a little ribbon to raise the cds out of the box. The only downsides were, I couldn't get it on my iPod because of a combination of the region and protections, and the music box was squeaky. However, the boxes were released a few years ago, so it isn't surprising that the gears would be a little rusty.

All together, it was worth every penny, and more!

The box is superb and fantastic.
The Album is the best they have done.
The Live concert is fantasic with great sound and crystal clear picture.
I like that the box plays bois de mervielles when you open it.

This is an absolute must have for any malice mizer fan. I was in extasy when I was able to view all of their pvs' and an entire tour plus all of te other beautiful things included. I can't stop with my malice mizer and this was a verry nice addition to my wide collection. I highly recomend it. ~Kami: R.I.P~

best 18th birthday gift ever 5

The box is well made and finished in a classy matt black, infact it looks good enough to buy right off. The insides are adorned with royal purple verlvet and there is a little music box inside it.

I was really happy when I opened this up I can tell you. The DVDs are brilliant and the CD is great. I was dissapointed that the discs came in thin cases and not proper jewel cases, but you can't have everything.

Buy one now if you haven't allready.
