伝説のテナー奏者スタン・ゲッツが、チック・コリア、スタンリー・クラーク、トニー・ウィリアムスをメンバーに迎えた1972年ライヴがついにオフィシャルリリース! 1972年、テナーの巨人スタン・ゲッツは当時リターン・トゥ・フォーエヴァーを結成したばかりのチック・コリアとスタンリー・クラークの2人を加え、さらにマイルス・デイヴィス・バンドを脱退しライフ・タイムで一世を風靡していた天才ドラマー、トニー・ウィリアムスをドラムに迎えたスーパー・バンドを結成した。その年、リターン・トゥ・フォーエヴァーのオリジナル・ドラマー、アイアートを加えたアルバム『キャプテン・マーヴェル』を発表し、クロスオーヴァー～フュージョン系のサウンドを取り入れた大胆なサウンドで、ゲッツ新時代の到来はファンの間で大きな話題となった。本作はその4ヶ月後、伝統あるモントルー・ジャズ・フェスティバル出演時の貴重なライヴで、特に映像は本邦初公開のもの。ファンならずともこのメンバーだけにオフィシャル盤が待ち望まれていたアンセムな1枚と言えるだろう。1972年7月モントルー・ジャズ・フェスティバルでの実況録音。日本語解説付。DVD+CD。
