I think I saw this movie in 2008....but it was so sad!!! Kamenashi really puts on an excellent performance; if this movie doesn't make you cry, then something must be wrong with your eyes! A really heartfelt story about a very rare disease, the gift of friendship and being optimistic even in the worst situations, this is a movie I really believe anyone would love.

2006年の24時間テレビ (日本テレビ系)内で放送された亀梨和也主演のスペシャルドラマ『ユウキ～頭蓋骨が溶ける病気と闘う青年と仲間の絆～』がDVDで登場! 世界で7例しかない頭蓋骨が溶ける難病に侵された青年・ユウキが懸命に生きようとする姿を描く実話を基にしたドラマ。オーストラリアに一人旅に出かけた青年・ユウキ (亀梨和也)は「ワーキングホリデー」として、農業などの労働に携わりながら旅人たちが集う宿に滞在していた。そんなある日、ユウキは奥歯の向こうにわずかな痛みを感じるようになる。そして、ユウキは帰国した直後、森下医師 (渡辺いっけい)から「頭蓋骨の一部が溶けていく病気に侵されている」という思いがけない診断を受ける。それは今までに世界で7例しかなく、完治する治療法が明らかになっていない難病だった。しかし、ユウキはオーストラリアで出会った仲間、ジュンジ (山口達也)、ヨシエ (優香)、ハマ (小栗旬)、ミユキ (吹石一恵)たちに励ましを受けながら、「病気に屈しない」という一心でフルマラソンを完走し、闘病生活を乗り越えてみせることを誓う。だが、無情にも時間の経過と共に病状は悪化し、頭蓋骨の溶解はやがてユウキの両目の視界までも奪っていく。それでもユウキは絶望することなく、病気に立ち向かうことを決意し、そんなユウキの姿が何不自由なく暮らせることを当たり前のように思っていた仲間たちの心を揺り動かしていく。
