LAST EXILE O.S.T. 2

Along with the first OST, this is one of my preferred OST. The music composed by Dolce Triade is great, and so are the songs performed by Hitomi Kuroishi and Shuntaro Okino. Whoever loved LAST EXILE should grab this one along with the first OST, but also who likes good music should, because it's worth it.

The 2nd OST to TV Tokyo Network's anime "Last Exile" with music by Dolce Triade contains bgm soundtracks and 4 new songs used in the anime. It includes an alternate version of the ending theme "Over the Sky". The harmonious vocals accompanying the melodious tunes create a mellow, surreal, even dreamy feel. For those who like to sing along to the music, the lyrics for these 5 songs can be found in the acompanying CD booklet. Featured artists include Shuntaro Okino, Hitomi among others. The monochrome sleeve cover artwork illustrated by character designer, Renji Murata, suits the nostalgic, classic mood of most of the pieces in the compilation. The use of mostly wind instruments like the oboe, clarinet and horn, and string instruments like the violin and harp and at times, the piano, brings out the carefree yet somewhat melancholic nature of the pieces. The music generates a sense of peacefulness, a serene calm within listeners. It is a great CD to get one in the mood for a bit of relaxation after a stressful day at work or school.
