i loved this record growing up, odds and sods is the perfect title for this record becouse entwistle put this together early in 1974 and the tracks as well as the cd bonus tracks span the period of 1964 to 1972, im the face is a high numbers tune from 64 as any who fan knows, this collection displays a lot of fantastic tracks like postcard, now im a farmer,to much of anything, put the money down all songs i dont think the who ever played live, i love the fact john put little billy on here, little billy was supposed to be released as a single in the summer of 1968 but it never happened so the song ended up in a vault for 6 years until john put in on this record, also you got the great anthems of glow girl, long live rock and one of my favorites naked eye, also on the bonus tracks my favorite version of WATER is included here, i prefer this version much more to the one on whos next, also the packaging is awsome, i have the promo original japan lp and the regular original japan lp from 1974 and this cd replica has the whole thing down to a T i always loved the poster that came with this record and im glad the replication came out so well, sadley this was a rather overlooked who album and i think its a 5 star album, i have been listening to this record since i first bought it back in 1978, ive been a who fan for 35 years and have a very large who collection, the gems on this cd reissue are endless, also i know some of the mixes on here are a bit different from the 1999 japan papersleeve issue but i look at it this way I HAVE BOTH MIXES, this is a fantastic record and a classic gem, so so many great memories behind this record, to bad the who did not include more from this album in there live set, of coarse we always got long live rock live as well as naked eye and in the early days water but outside of that not much else, this is a must own who release.

Customer Reviews
This SHM-CD edition of The Who's 1974 rarities collection "Odds & Sods" reverts back to the original 1974 John Entwistle mixes(versus the 1998 Jon Astley remixes). The 11 tracks from the original 1974 L.P. are presented in their original running order on this SHM-CD, then the bonus songs follow, but not always in the same mixes or versions heard on the 1998 CD. This time "Cousin Kevin Model Child" ,"Summertime Blues" & "My Way" are original 1960's mixes that are new to official CD. "Young Man Blues" is the correct take(versus the wrong take presented on the 1998 CD), but presented in a slightly different, slightly faster mix than the one that was included on the Uk "The House That Track Built" various artists L.P.(perhaps the originally released 1960's mix couldn't be found) But, there is still evidence of Jon Astley's carelessness. The 1998 CD included a first time stereo mix of the U.S.A. single version of "Mary Anne With The Shaky Hand"(an alternate arrangement), but on this SHM-CD you get the regular non-rare version from "The Who Sell Out". Why? Because Astley is a dummy.
