Never considered one of Olivia Newton-John's best albums, 'Clearly Love' has none the less turned out to be one of the nicest surprises in Universal's 2010 SHM CD reissues. Firstly, it sounds incredible. It could have been recorded yesterday. Secondly, the MLPS artwork is marvellous, replicating one of her best LP sleeves perfectly. And lastly, the bonus tracks are a live version of 'Something Better To Do' and an unreleased song, 'Fairy Tale Hero', written by John Rostill, that was recorded around the same time as this album. It's a quaint song, not her best work, of course, but thoroughly enchanting to hear her 'young' voice sing something completely new! This version of 'Clearly Love' is truly amazing, and while she would do far better work down the line, this 2010 remaster makes a fair to middling album really rather special.
