this was just an ok release that came out i remember at the end of 1988 becouse kiss did not release a studio album that year & from 1973 through the late 1980s an album a year ( in some shape, way or form) was there standard back in those days, anyway first off i did not buy this in 1988 when it was released and this is the first time i have ever owned this collection as i bought the most recent 3 UHQCD mini lp replica editions that where released & this was the last one so i thought why not add it to to the collection, anyway i first got into kiss back in 1976 so i am a fan from that breed and i also loved records like CREATURES OF THE NIGHT ( 1982), LICK IT UP ( 1983) & ANIMALIZE (1984) and after that THAT WAS ONCE AGAIN IT FOR ME & KISS FOR THE REST OF THE 80S, REVENGE IN 1992 was there last great record & i love all albums from there debut in 1973 through LOVE GUN (1977) the solos in 78 where ok and double platinum was ok in 79 but I DID DID NOT LIKE DYNASTY in 1979. anyway this was just ok as im not crazy about the remixes to the classic 70s songs chosen for this compilation as well as the few from the 80s and i was never a fan of the song for this compilation LETS PUT THE X IN SEX!!, this disc is very loud as pointed out by the previous reviewer wich does not bother me much, the packaging is really nice, i would say this is a good disc for a real super DIE HARD KISS FAN that has even enjoyed the post 2004 line up of the band wich is still going to this day, for me???? again when you got into kiss in the mid 70s most of us old fans seem to feel the way i do........

Although the packaging is really nice I was disappointed to hear that this version is mastered louder than my original CD. If this is from the master tapes, why not a flat transfer? Why the need to master it louder. I didn’t find it as dynamic as the original CD.
