[ジョン・コルトレーン生誕95周年記念スペシャル・プライス限定盤] ジャズ史上最高のカリスマの生誕95周年 (1926年9月23日生まれ)と未発表ライヴ盤の発売、そして所属のインパルス・レーベル創立60周年を記念し、代表的名盤からレア盤までをスペシャル・プライス限定盤で再発売。 録音から55年を経て発掘された奇跡の音源。マッコイ・タイナー~ジミー・ギャリソン～エルヴィン・ジョーンズという通称・黄金のカルテットを率いて、1963年3月6日にニュージャージーのヴァン・ゲルダー・スタジオで行った公式セッション。名盤『ジョン・コルトレーン・アンド・ジョニー・ハートマン』の録音前日に行われたセッションで、充実期のカルテットの姿を余すところなく捉えた、まさに歴史的遺産! セッションの記録は残っていたものの海賊盤も含めこれまで世に出たことがなかった幻の音源。マスターテイク全7曲 (約47分)のうち、Track 1, 3はコルトレーンの未発表のオリジナル曲。また、代表曲「インプレッションズ」とジャズ・スタンダードの「ネイチャー・ボーイ」の2曲は、ピアノのマッコイ・タイナー抜きのトリオ編成での貴重な録音。
