This album, her first in about 10 years, was made possible by a suggestion from engineer Kikou Uehara! The recording team includes Sadao Chika, a leading figure in the Okinawan music world who grew up with Misako like a sister and brother and has led the Okinawan folk song world together, Ryoichi Nago, who the late Rinsho Kadekari called "the closest thing to a successor to himself," and Masao Yagi, a leading figure in Okinawan theater and a leader in its development. This is not an eccentric work, but rather a work that offers a glimpse of the current "Okinawa" by pursuing a simple, royal Okinawan folk song without being constrained by conventional recording methods.
