かつて日本経済の怪物と呼ばれた〈鈴木商店〉の立役者、鈴木よねと金子直吉が成し遂げた『奇跡の航海』を描くヒューマンドラマ。天海祐希・小栗旬ほか豪華キャストが共演! ――明治から昭和初期にかけての激動の時代、一軒の砂糖問屋を世界的総合商社に成長させた一人の女性と、彼女を支えた男が起こした日本経済史上奇跡の物語。神戸の砂糖問屋「鈴木商店」に嫁いだ鈴木よね(天海祐希)は、保守的で厳しい考えの夫・岩治郎(生瀬勝久)と衝突しながらも、子供を授かり商人の妻として順調な生活を送っていた。しかし、夫の急死からよねの人生は一転・・・。「お家さん」と呼ばれ、女主人としての鈴木商店の頂点に立つことになる。彼女を支え、導いたのは、土佐の貧乏育ちから自力で這い上がって来た奉公人の金子直吉(小栗旬)だ。あらゆる時代の波に翻弄されながらも、よねと直吉は鈴木商店を日本一の巨大商社へと成長させていく。しかし、幾多のピンチを乗り越えてきた2人に最大のピンチが訪れる・・・。教科書にも記載される程の歴史的事件「米騒動」に巻き込まれ、鈴木商店は衝撃的ラストを迎えることになるのだった! 読売テレビ・日本テレビ系にて2014年5月9日放送。読売テレビ開局55周年記念ドラマ。
