[EW&Fデビュー40周年/ラムゼイ・ルイス JAZZ FUNK YEARS] 2011年リマスタリング。書き下ろし解説付き。 ラムゼイ・ルイスの代表作にして、ジャズ・ファンクの名作。チェス時代からの旧友でもあるEW&Fのモーリス・ホワイトがプロデュースし、フィリップ・ベイリー、ヴァーディン・ホワイトらEW&F勢が参加した「Sun Goddess」は、EW&Fの傑作ライヴ盤『灼熱の狂宴』でも取り上げられている。「Living For The City」は後に共演するスティーヴィー・ワンダーのカバー。アルバムを通して強靭なジャズ・ファンクのグルーヴに、ラムゼイのブルージーなピアノ/フェンダーローズが絡み合い、色褪せることのない70年代の名作といえる。本作は全米チャート12位まで上昇し、ゴールド・ディスクを獲得。(1974年作品)
