フジテレビで2010年10月クールの火曜21時枠で放送された、二宮和也主演、ヒロインに香里奈が出演するドラマ『フリーター、家を買う。』(2010年10月16日～12月21日)は、幅広い年齢層から支持を得た大ヒットドラマ。二宮和也演じる、3カ月で就職先を辞めてしまったフリーターの武誠治が、アルバイト先の大悦土木で出会った香里奈演じる千葉真奈美らと出会い、仕事に対する思いや家族再生の希望をみつけていくこのドラマは、人生はいつでもやり直せると気付かせてくれる、温かくて優しい家族の本当の再生の物語。ドラマのオフィシャルサイトには「感動しました」「勇気づけられました」「心温まる素晴らしいドラマでした」などの賞賛の声が多数寄せられ、そうした反響に応える形でスペシャルドラマとして放送。スペシャルドラマでは、原作にはない新しい家を手に入れた誠治たち武家のその後をオリジナル脚本で描くとともに、誠治と真奈美、それぞれの親の話をからめながら二人の関係の進展を描いている。 特典ディスクには、ドラマメイキング (約45分)を収録予定。スペシャルブックレット付。
