I really like this item although it's more a toy than a real clock. You can set the time and an alarm option but I haven't heard the alarm actually go off yet so I may have not figured out the settings correctly. I don't read Japanese so I had to just push buttons and see what was what to get the clock and alarm set. It does have 3 to 4 sayings (all in Japanese) but I don't know what they are saying. LOL It's in Sakura's original voice though which is what I wanted and like. There is a little heart button your push to get the voice to speak. The booklet on the box is fun to look at with images of Sakura's clear card costumes, an interview with her voice actress (all in Japanese), and some other information about additional characters, costumes and CCS related things you can buy if you are in Japan. If you like novelty items, this is for you. It takes 2 AAA batteries (had to see which fit as it doesn't specify when I read the instruction and the inside of the battery compartment). You'll also need a mini screwdriver to open the compartment up. Over all, it is a cute item.
