New Eyes

[Machine Translation] Magic Dance is a solo project founded by singer/songwriter John Sica in 2012 in New York. After releasing his debut EP "Another World" in 2013, he followed it up with "The Mirror of Dreams" and "Kiss Scene" EPs. At the time of his debut, his music was characterized by a light, poppy tone strongly influenced by 80's movie soundtracks and synth pop. However, his sound began to change with the release of the " Haunting Me " EP in 2015. His 2016 album, "Vanishings", is a hard pop AOR album that continues along the same lines. John was so pleased with the reception of this album that he decided to make another album along these lines. This year, 2018, his new album "New Eyes" will be completed. Fans from the past as well as newcomers will definitely be drawn in by his outstanding sense of melody, and the nostalgic, lighthearted sound of the 80s will tickle their hearts. This album is the third album of this project and the debut album in Japan.

マジック・ダンスはシンガー・ソングライターのジョン・シーカにより2012年にニュー・ヨークで立ち上げられたソロ・プロジェクトである。デビューEP "Another World"を2013年に発表後、 間を置かず"The Mirror of Dreams" and "Kiss Scene" EPを連続して発表。デビュー当時の彼の音楽は80年代の映画サウンドトラックやシンセ・ポップに強く影響を受けた軽快でポップな曲調が特徴であった。しかし、2015年に発表した "Haunting Me" EPから彼のサウンドに変化が現れる。今までのポップな曲調にヘヴィなギターを挿入し、よりアクセントのある曲調にシフトしていったのである。2016年に発表したアルバム"Vanishings"は上記の路線を踏襲する形でハード・ポップなAORアルバムとして完成した。このアルバムの評価に手ごたえを感じたジョンは、この路線で次のアルバムを作ることを決意。そして今年2018年、ニュー・アルバム"New Eyes"が完成する。以前からのファンも今作から入ったファンも、間違いなく彼の卓越したメロディーセンスに引き込まれるであろう、80sテイストのどこか懐かしい軽快なサウンドが心をくすぐる、現代版80sサウンドとも言うべき質の高い作品として仕上がっている。今作はこのプロジェクトのサード・アルバムにして、本邦デビュー・アルバムとなる。
