大鹿村騒動記 / 邦画
江戸から数えて300余年。南アルプスの懐に抱かれた大鹿村では、途絶えることなく「村歌舞伎」の伝統が続いてきた。そこで主役を張ってきたのが、初老の食堂店主・風祭善だ。サングラスにテンガロンハットの無骨な男だが、いざ舞台に立てば観客の視線を一身に集める花形役者。しかし私生活では女房に逃げられ、18年間ひとり暮らしをしている。そんなある日、公演を5日後に控えた村に、駆け落ちした妻の貴子と幼なじみの治が帰ってきた。聞けば彼女は脳を患い、善の顔も忘れてしまったという。わずかに覚えているのは、かつて夫相手に舞台で演じた台詞のみ。折しもリニア新幹線の誘致をめぐって仲間が対立し、暴風雨まで接近するなか、善の心は千々に乱れてしまう。「これじゃ歌舞伎なんてやれねえ!」。 天災の年にも戦争の季節にもやめなかった村芝居。さて、その幕は、無事開くや否や──?
