綾戸智恵デビュー15周年記念アルバムチャリティアルバム『Prayer』から1年余り、「祈り」の先に見えたのは、人を含めてそれでも世界は強く美しいという想い-来年デビュー15周年を迎える綾戸が完成させた希望に満ちたニューアルバム!!!震災を挟んでレコーディングされた前作『PRAYER』は図らずも、震災の影響を受け、タイトルの通り慈愛と癒しを込めた「祈り」のアルバムでした。そして自ら被災地へ足を運び、改めて人の絆の素晴らしさを感じた綾戸智恵。祈りの先には希望に満ちた素晴らしい世界がありました。人を含め、それでも世界は強く、美しい(Wonderful World)…そんな気持ちがアルバム制作のエネルギーになりました。そしてテーマを象徴する楽曲「What A Wonderful World」からアルバムタイトルが付けられました。前作の『ハレルヤ』に代表される落ち着いたテイストから一転、今作はオルガン/パーカッション/ギター/ベースというドラムレスのバンドで明るく軽やかな印象のアルバムとなってます。選曲も王道エリントンナンバーからビートルズやスティングのロックナンバー、そしてニーノ・ロータの映画音楽(「ゴッドファーザー」)に至るまで、これまでのアルバムの中でも特に自由に楽しく今歌いたい歌を収録。そして偶然にも全12曲LOVEという単語入った曲が実に5曲あることも今の気分を反映していると思います。これまで原信夫とシャープス&フラッツ、前田憲男、山下洋輔などの著名なジャズミュージシャンと共演を果たし、さらには中島美嘉、上妻宏光(津軽三味線)、EXILEなど他のジャンルのアーティストとも数多く共演をしてきました。JAZZという枠組みを飛び越えて、ポップス、J-POP、カントリー、ゴスペルなど様々なジャンルの音楽を巧みに歌いこなす姿にファンのみならず、ミュージシャンをも魅了しています。そんな綾戸智恵が15年目の節目に放つ新作『Wonderful World』がちょうどデビュー15年目にあたる2012年6月21日(木)にリリースします。更には7月からデビュー15周年コンサートWonderful Worldで翌春までのロングコンサートを全国で行い、満15年を迎える初夏にはスペシャルな企画も控えています。これぞ綾戸智恵がデビュー15年を前に到達した、希望のアルバムと言える傑作です!!!!
