[角川シネマコレクション2016年 8月度: 原節子特集] 結婚、仕事、家庭・・・。女の幸福とは? そしてその限界とは――? ――のどかな日々を送っている高松家に、突然長女の省子が一女を連れて、婚家から戻ってきた。二十五歳の未亡人――それが不憫であるという、向こうの両親の心遣いだった。父の峰三は、「まあ、ゆっくり、そのうち良縁を見つけるさ」と楽観している。この父に一番の難物は次女の由岐子で、近代娘であったが心の底は何ものにも侵されない信念を持っていた。そんな由岐子は同じ劇団員の大塚に心惹かれてゆくのだが・・・。
