neolog Memorial Address 4

I'm not very fond of the first song. It's very cutsey and is a complete contradiction to the feel of the rest of this album. However it does have that "opening feel" during the first few seconds. Every other song is pure amazement though. Hanabi is so emotional, while forgiveness show's power in Ayumi's vocals. Memorial Address convey's emotions such as sadness and anger while ourselves brings out a good indie type of vibe.

neolog Mini Album With the Quality of a Full Length Album 5

Even in releasing a mini-album, Ayu does not fail to deliver the golden nugget. I simply love everything about this album from the direction of the jacket and booklet art to the actual content. On this album are an assortment of diverse songs ranging from emotional and guitar driven ballads to typical, though no less superb, pop songs that our songstress is known for. Opening the album is the very upbeat "ANGEL'S SONG", followed by the upbeat summer tune "Greatful days". Both are very catchy songs that immediately catch the attention of the listener and draws him or her in. It then leads into the rock song "Because of You", driven by heavy guitars and drumming. The next song "ourselves" is a favorite for me because it's so unique and stands out among other songs she's done. She really does a great job with the chorus; it's extremely catchy and takes some skill and genius to make it come out as good as it did. Concluding the album are very excellent ballads. "HANABI ~episode II~" is a follow-up of the previous year's "HANABI". It still manages to maintain that forlorn and ethereal feeling with a unique chorus thrown in, but differs greatly with the original because of the fact; they perfectly contrast each other. One of her warmest and most well-done winter ballads "No way to say" appears on here, further enhancing the value and quality of "Memorial address". It is followed up by "forgiveness", a summer ballad with an air of beauty and mystery about it, as implied in the PV. Concluding this album is its title track, which some might argue stands out among the rest. Up until this album, it is probably one of the most emotional ballads she has ever done due to the nature of its lyrics and the way the emotions are amplified by the guitars and drumming. What makes this album so special is the style she does each type of song in. For example, there may be four or so different ballads on here, but each of them is done differently, ranging from the use of string instruments to guitars to keyboards etc. Then you have songs like "ourselves" which would fit into a class of its own for its uniqueness. In the eight songs she serves up, a full album's worth of quality burgeons forth.

This is where all started. Back in 2003 when I didn't listened music at all I saw Boys & Girls music video on PV. I found a 30 seconds CM on a site of the album and I loved every second of it. This album is short but good, worth to buy.

Because Of Ayu... 5

I figured that this was a mini album, but c'mon, it's Ayu. To me, one song has sold me, I had to grab this album... BECAUSE OF YOU. It was the video that caught my attention and the simple fact that Ayu looks a lot like Paine (my favorite character from FFX-2).

Another great release from Ayu! I may not know what I am talking about, but I do know that you need to add this album to your extensive Ayu collection! Don't hesitate... GET IT NOW!!!

A wide range of different styles... 4

This mini-ablum feels in lots of ways like a slight experiment. Going through a wide range of different styles from one song to the other, some are better than others though.

ANGEL'S SONG opens up the album nicely with it's electronic beat, Because of You is one of my all time favourites, it's just so intense and dramatic, ourselves is also a great highlight with it's very compelling arrangement, No way to say is truly one of the best songs here and the title track is amazing as well.

Then there's also the bonus DVD that features on music video to every song (except for the title track) and every one of them is extremely well made. The videos for ANGEL'S SONG and No way to say are very cute ones, but the highlight is ourselves that is quite dark. HANABI ~Episode II~ is a very emotional one as well.

The edition in itself is definitely 5 star, but as the DVD is only bonus I exclude it from the total rating and give it a strong 4 because it just doesn't feel complete and that's not because of the quantity of the songs. It's still no question about it, a great addition to your collection!

Ayu's "kawaii" days 4

This was from Ayu's cute lil' days where she still slightly sang through her nose. It's beautiful regardless but I'd recommend "My Story" or "Secret" more. However, this is a lovely minialbum and definitely a MUST HAVE for Ayu fans.

A good release from Ayumi, also is my first CD from Her, the angel's song, no words, hanabi and others are special, my be the video from Angel' song is different of i think with the song, Her always are 1 of my favorites J-pop singers.

Great mini album 5

This is Ayu's first mini album and she shows us with just 7 songs and a bonus track how great her music is, from very pop to ballads to rock songs, Memorial address is excellent, plus the extra DVD has a video for each song and they're quite original, plus some footage from her A Museum concert.

Awesome mini-album. 5

While probably disappointing to most fans at only 8 tracks; the cd itself is right up there with some of Hamasaki's best work in recent memory. The quality of this album should not be overlooked due to its short length. For fans of Ayu this one is a "must".

DVD also includes 7 PVs of all songs... (No PV for title track) Which really just rocks.

Memorial Adress - Mini but Great Album 5

This is One of the best ayu's album , the cover is my favorite of all, 8 songs but each one have own style.the Bonus track-Memorial adress song has no video, but is a fantastic rock-ballad.
Every ayu fan must have this album.
